We thought to keep everyone up to date on what's happening here in Peru we would start a new feature on the blog. Every Friday we will post news links to interesting websites and articles that highlight Peru. Enjoy this first batch of Peru stories!

Two stories highlighting environmental progress here in Peru. First, Lake Titicaca National Reserve is awarded for its environmental education efforts in local communities. Educating the children of Peru is key to protecting Peru's natural wonders for future generations- so way to go! (Andina.com.pe)
Second, new proposed legislation aims to protect the endangered Andean Condor in Colca Canyon with stricter punishments for those caught poaching the emblematic birds. (peruviantimes.com)
On the coast, Archaeologists are uncovering an Incan road that leads to the beach. It is thought that the Inca people used the road to collect precious shells from the sandy shoreline. Hopefully these studies will protect the ancient trail from further damage.(peruthisweek.com)
